I hope this is right…….I think magma is molten rock and this is what its called when its under the surface and we call it lava when it breaks through like from a volcano and is above the surface. 🙂
That’s right. Magma and lava are the same thing – hot, molten rock. For some reason we call it magma while it’s still underground, and lava once it has erupted and flows out onto the surface. Personally, I think it’s stupid that we give them different names, but I don’t make the rules
