      Hi blackveilbridesmaid11,

I don’t believe in God or Karma, but I do believe that it is important to always try and do the right thing and to look out for your family and friends as they are always important in life!

As for music in science, they go hand in hand. While apart from listening to it all day at work to help me get through my work, music can’t be involved in my science, there are plenty of universities in the UK which offer course such as Music with Physics, because music has a large element of physics to it, because every note we hear is caused by sound waves moving through the air compressing and expanding the air around us. So it is very possible for you to study both science and music and combine both in a career. Hope that is what you wanted to hear!

      Hey blackveilbridesmaid11,

I do actually believe in Karma in a round about way. I do think that if you do good things then good things will happen to you. I think people always get what the deserve in the end.

Yeah there are loads of cool ways you can combine music and science! My friends is researching music in video games. Theres loads of science involved in that, trying to work out how certain music affects us in different ways.

Music is such an important part of lots of peoples lives which makes it an interesting topic to study and know more about! So if you really are interested then keep at it and you could be a really famous scientist one day if you discover something interesting!

      Hi blackveilbridesmaid11,
Like James P, I don’t believe in karma or god. You should always try to do the right thing in life, not because you might get punished by god or karma if you don’t, but simply because it’s the right thing to do!

There is a whole area of science dedicated to how sound waves behave. It’s called acoustics. Check it out on wikipedia. Acoustic scientists play a really important role in things like designing concert halls to ensure that the sound quality from the orchestra is as good as possible. They’re also really important for designing recording studios and things like that.

Weirdly, there’s a lot in common with what I do and what acoustic scientists do. Earthquake waves moving through the earth are basically like very large, very low frequency sound waves. So a lot of the methods and techniques we use to model how earthquake waves travel through the earth are also used by acoustic scientists to model how sound waves travel around an auditorium.
