Hi bobob,
I’ve never actually been in an earthquake, so I can’t say for sure. However, I knows lots of people can die when they happen, so I think I’d probably be pretty scared if I got caught in one.
That said, it’s important to know what to do. If you’re outside, stay away from buildings and anything else that could topple onto you (bridges, electricity cables etc). If you’re inside, get under a table or under a doorway, which will give you some protection. Stay away from heavy furniture which could fall on you, and windows which could shatter and shower you with broken glass.
If your near the sea, be aware that large earthquakes can cause tsunamis, so get to high ground if you can.
I haven’t experienced an earthquake either, but while I do want to feel a small one, I do think I would be scared if I was somewhere that had a big earthquake, especially as they are so sudden and there is no warning.
Never been in an earthquake, well i was once when i was on holiday in greece, but i slept through that one so it doesn’t really count. But to answer your question … I don’t ever want to be in one, well a major one anyways … and it’s because of my job that i know how much casualties and destruction they can cause therefore would want to avoid.
