• Question: How many earthquakes will happen in the next 10 years in the world

      It is estimated that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year. Most go undetected because either they hit remote areas and have very small magnitudes or just have very small magnitudes anyways. So in the next 10 years there will be several millions earthquakes x10.

      If we just look at some of the larger earthquakes (those above magnitude 5) then around 15,000 will occur in the next 10 years.

      Top answer from Davie, the worst bit is we don’t know exactly where and when these Earthquakes will occur which is what is really scary and dangerous!
