      Hi Lena,

I never get to blow things up (sadly 🙁 ). But some scientists do, it’s why science is so great because it is so varied!

      Hi lena,
I’ve never blown anything up! Actually, that’s not true – once in chemistry class I poured ethanol into a sink and dropped a match it. It created a bit of a fireball, but I wouldn’t recommend it, because I got into a lot of trouble.

I don’t get to bow anything up for my job, although I’ve watched plenty of videos of volcanoes blowing up and erupting. Go to youtube and have a search for some stuff – they can be pretty impressive.

If you mean like explode things then I try to avoid it and luckily its very rare that it happens. However
Working with high pressures there has been the odd occasion when the experiment has failed in a big way. Like when one of the tubes sheared off and all the fizzy water that was pressurised to 200 Bar wanted to escape from the vessel at the same time! It was like a fizzy fountain erupting in the oven! Its was in a contained and controlled environment though so it was safe.
