      Hi geek52,

I think that the hardest rock on Earth is Granite, a volcanic rock, but I’m not 100% certain! Sure James V or Davie can confirm or put me right!

      Hi geek,
The hardest mineral in the world is diamond. Of course, you don’t get rocks formed from diamonds. Probably the hardest mineral that forms rocks is quartz, so any rock with a lot of quartz in it would be the hardest. Granite has a lot of quartz, as does quartzite, so one of those I think

Hi geek52 … hardest mineral is indeed diamond but i’d agree with James V and say rocks with lots of quartz contained in them are the hardest … so i’d say quartzite is the hardest rock
