The reason for this can vary, but some a common reason is that some people have a very high rate of metabolism, which is the scientific term for the fact they burn a lot of energy quickly. These people, can eat lots of food and not get fat because they burn off everything they eat, even if they are just sat in a chair watching TV.
A friend of mine suffers from this and has been struggling recently to put on weight with no success!
They probably have a higher metabolism like James said. However being slim is not necessarily a sign of being healthy. Being healthy on the inside like good blood sugar levels, good diet, the correct minerals and vitamins and low cholesterol are really important too!
As Gemma says, just because someone looks slim, if they’re eating a lot of fatty food they can still develop high cholesterol which can lead to heart attacks.
