      Hi lupopippa

We have so many different species because evolution allows nature to find something that can live in all the many different habitats that exist. So fish evolved to live in the sea, humans evolved to live on the ground, while birds evolved to fly in the sky, there are forms of life that eveolved to live in the deep oceans by underwater volcanoes and life that evolved to eat the dead.

Evolution never stops, so everytime it finds a new development which helps something survive then we get a new species and this just keeps on happening, in something which is truely fascinating!
