My research is about measuring stresses in the earth’s crust, and creating computer models to understand why stresses are changing. This can be useful in many applications. It can help us extract natural resources more efficiently, both from mines and also from oil and gas reservoirs. It can also be useful in understanding the behaviour of volcanoes. If we get a better understanding of what is happening at volcanoes, we might get better at being able to warn people when they might erupt.

      Hi iqrammahmood,

I hope my research will make a difference by adding to what we are learning about our climate and how it will change due to climate change. This will hopefully get people taking action and making a difference by reducing our emissions and therefore reducing the impact of global warming.
