      Hi boxofstrawbs, jessw98 & doctorwhomadperson

I guess the honest answer is I really hope so. Fingers crossed my research will improve our understanding of the earth’s climate and how it is affected by changes in the greenhosue gas concentrations in the atmosphere so that we have a better idea of how much warming we will get because of climate change and where it will impact most.

I think though, that my studies alone won’t change the world, but when you add my work to the work of other scientists, that as a team we will together change the world, I think together we will make a difference.

      hey guys,

i don’t really think any science changes the way people see the world, thats down to what the media and politicians tell you about. Sometimes journalists can overhype a resarch finding, or not tell you about something at all. For example GM foods were given a terrible rep in the press and so the public decided they didnt want to eat them, but GM foods could really help the problem of maluntrition and starvation.

Scientists have an important job, they help people to know the facts about their research. They provide the facts to the best of their knoweldge at that time. Its then down to people to make up their own mind what opinion they have and how they feel about it. It can be complicated too as not all things in science have a single answer and sometimes scientists dont always agree! I hope that my research will help to provide people with a little bit more knowledge and raise awareness of energy and climate change and its problems and possible solutions. Then they can hopefully find it easier to make an opinion about the world in which they live.
