      Hi whocares,
Most fish reproduce in the following way:
Both the male and female fish get together in the same place. The female fish releases unfertilised eggs into the water, while the male sprays his sperm over them to fertilise them. Once the eggs are fertilised, the babies develop inside as the eggs float in the water. At this stage a lot of eggs get eaten by other animals. Once they are ready, the eggs hatch out and the babies swim away. Most fish do not look after their babies – they lay their eggs in the water, fertilise them, and then swim away. They’re not very good parents!
