• Question: How do you respond if you get a negative response from another scientist?

      Hey Jellytotayers,

      I think you have to be quite thick skinned to be a scientist as you are going to get negative comments at some point. Science is based on agreeing with or disproving theory’s that already exist, which is why scientists can have very different views on things. It is quite common to do a piece of work and then present it to other scientists who work on similar topics and they then tell you if they agree with your results or not. This debate is really good and if we didn’t do it then standards would slip!

      Plus you cant be right all the time so you have to be open to learning new things and hearing other peoples point of views!
