Hi cloclo,
I don’t really know much about medicine, so I’m not really sure to be honest.
However, we already have cures for many types of cancer, using chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgical treatments. Both my parents have had cancer and survived. The most important thing seems to be finding it early, before it has a chance to spread all over the body.
Lots of different types of cancer are very different, so it might be a while before we can cure every type of cancer completely. But medical science is helping us find new ways of treating cancer, so we’re improving all the time.
As James V says we have some cures and we are getting better at it all the time due to more and more awareness and understanding. I hope that a cure will be within my lifetime, but I don’t know for sure. I do believe it is definitely possible though!
With all the research that is going into curing cancer i definitely think it is possible. I wouldn’t want to offer a guess at when though. It could take many many more years, or they could have a break through soon. Lets just hope for sooner rather than later.
I dont know much about medicine either but like the others have said that we are learning more and more about different types of cancer and treatments all the time. Ive heard some information about cells called stem cells that could be used to treating lots of conditions and diseases including cancers. But it might be worth asking one of the scientists in the organ zone if they can explain more about them as they are likely to know more about biology.
