Unfortunately, I don’t know a lot about brains – I didn’t do any biology beyond my GCSEs. I know they’re probably the most amazing things in the universe though: a few pounds of grey matter, fueled only by a couple of cheese-and-pickle sandwiches and a mug of coffee, is capable of out-performing the world’s best supercomputers by an absolute mile!
I dont really know a lot about brains. I only did biology to GCSE level. The one interesting thing i can tell you about brains is that if you were to poke your brain it wouldnt hurt as there are no nerve endings there. Thats why when you have certain types of brain surgery you are fully awake but just cant feel anything!
I have to make the same confession as James V and Nuala, I haven’t studied any biology since my GCSE’s, but I do know that we know very little about the brain, how it works and why it works as it does and why when it goes wrong it does.
I did some Biology for my degree and I did an A-level in psycology but they were both a long time ago! I do know that you have two different types of memory, short-term and long-term, so if you let me know exactly what you want to know about brains I will do my best to recall my long term memory and try to help you answer it!! 🙂
