      Hey onedirection98 ,

I dont think there is actually a scientific reason for nightmares. Everyone one gets scared at different things. I would get a nightmare if i have seen something scary like a scary movie or am worried about something.

Getting rid of hiccups isnt an exact science either. I think most of the remedies are old wives tales and it depends on the person which one works, there are so pretty strange ones though like doing a handstand?! I usually just stick with holding my breath

      Hi onedirection98,

Nightmares are just dreams which we remember and scare us. They can be caused by things we’ve seen in the day which are scary, or if you are really upset or stressed out about something, this can cause you to have very anxious dreams. Most of my nightmares are this second sort, I’ve wound myself up about something and it causes me to have bad dreams. My solution is if I wake up, to read a nice book and get lost in it.

Hiccups are caused by the diaphragm having a brief spell of contracting and releasing really quickly causing small amount of air to be pushed out of your lungs really quickly. I guess the old wives tales of how to cure them comes about, because they stop as quickly as the start, so everyone finds a method which gets rid of them and so they tell everyone it works!
