      Hi moorl,

Because the motions of the planets are completely predictable, astronomers can predict exactly when the next eclipse will be.

NASA keeps a website listing when and where the next eclipses will happen – it’s here:
      http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.html

It appears that the next solar eclipse will be in November 13th (when the moon goes in front of the sun), and the next lunar eclipse will be November 28th (when the earth goes in front of the moon, and you can see the shadow of the earth on the moon).

      Hi moorl001,

I can’t wait for the next eclipse in Britain, I just hope I get to see it and it won’t be cloudy, which knowing the UK, it will be!
