      Hi youso001,

I think the closest volcano to the UK would be one of the volcanoes on Iceland (such as Kraflaor, Laki or Eyjafjallajökull) I think they are closer than Versuvius which is by Naples in Italy.

      Hi yousc,

I’m not sure which are closest, the ones in Iceland (Laki, Krafla, Eyjafjallajökull) or the ones in Italy (Vesuvius and Etna). There is a volcanic area in southern Germany, the Eifel field, but these were only small and pretty much finished erupting about 10,000 years ago.
